To maintain the second leg assembly in the use position, the table has a second support assembly having a second brace structure and a second support bar. The second brace structure has a second central pivotal attachment point, and one or more second distal pivotal attachment points attached to the second leg assembly. The second support bar has a first end which is pivotally attached to the second pivot bar and a second end which pivotally attached to the second central pivotal attachment point of the first brace structure.
Collapsible table 6,651,568 A table assembly of the type including a table top having a lower surface with a recessed central tray region and tray sides extending between the tray region and surrounding portions of the lower surface; leg assemblies mountable adjacent the lower surface and within the central tray region, each of the leg assemblies including a bracket having a plurality of mounts and at least two extensions adjacent edges of the bracket and positioned adjacent a portion of one of the tray sides; a leg pivotally mounted to the mounts; a plurality of frame members positioned so that a portion of each of the frame members is positioned between one of the extensions of the one of the brackets, and a fastener extending through each of the extensions and a portion of the adjacent frame member and into a portion of the tray side for mounting of the frame members and the leg assemblies to the table top.
Collapsible table 6,823,806 A collapsible table includes an elongate table top having a substantially planar top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The bottom surface includes opposing elongate first and second side edges, an elongate first channel which is substantially parallel to the elongate first side edge, and an elongate second channel which is substantially parallel to the elongate second side edge. Projections, which are preferably integrally molded into the bottom surface, are disposed on opposing sides of each of the elongate first and second channels. A support frame is attached to the bottom surface of the table top which includes a first elongate tubular support member disposed in the elongate first channel, and a second elongate tubular support member disposed in the elongate second channel. The support frame also includes first and second pivotal leg assemblies, each having a tubular cross member pivotally attached between the first and second elongate tubular support members, and leg sections attached to the tubular cross members. The first and second projections in the bottom surface of the table top provide a snap fit to retain the first and second elongate tubular support members within the elongate first and second channels.
Folding chair with sliding leg structure 7,080,877 A folding chair is configurable into a use position and a storage position. The folding chair includes a backrest, a seat, and inner and outer support structures. The outer support structure includes substantially parallel first and second elongate outer support members, each having an upper portion attached to the backrest and a lower portion disposed adjacent an underlying surface when the chair is in the use position. The seat is pivotally attached to the outer support structure between the first and second elongate outer support members. The inner support structure is pivotally attached to the outer support structure between the first and second elongate outer support members. The inner support structure includes substantially parallel first and second elongate inner support members disposed on opposing sides of the seat. Upper portions of the first and second elongate inner support members are slidably attached to the seat. Lower portions of the first and second elongate inner support members are disposed adjacent the underlying surface when the chair is in the use position. When the chair is in the storage position, the seat, the backrest, the inner support structure and the outer support structure are substantially coplanar. Based on the coplanarity of these structures, the stacking thickness of the chair is determined by the thickness of the seat and the backrest. Accordingly, the chair has a very low profile and minimized stacking thickness when it is in the storage position.
Blow-molded table 7,150,237 A blow molded table includes a table board, and two opposite support units each foldably mounted on a bottom of the table board. Each of the two support units includes a support stand pivotally mounted on either one of two ends of the table board, and a support member pivotally mounted on a mediate of the table board and pivotally connected with the support stand. Thus, the blow-molded table is supported rigidly and stably when being expanded and is folded when not in use.
Chair backrest attachment structure 7,314,251 A chair comprises a seat, legs for supporting the seat, a backrest frame connected to the legs, and a backrest attached to the backrest frame. The backrest includes a backrest panel and backrest inserts. The backrest panel has slots extending inwardly from peripheral edges of the backrest panel. Each insert is configured for sliding insertion into a corresponding one of the backrest slots. The backrest is secured to the backrest frame by fasteners that pass through the backrest frame and into a corresponding one of the backrest inserts. The backrest inserts may be formed of a sturdy plastic to provide a secure anchor point for the fasteners. This provides a significant advantage for chairs having backrest panels constructed from relatively soft materials, such as pressed wood fiberboard.
Blow-molded table 7,621,224 A collapsible table includes a blow-molded table top and two opposing collapsible support stands mounted on a bottom of the table top. The support stands are supported by articulated support braces attached to cross braces that span the underside of the table top. At opposing ends of the cross braces are substantially U-shaped brackets that receive leg members of the support stands when the support stands are in a collapsed position.
Foldable table 7,707,948 A collapsible table has a blow-molded tabletop comprising two table top halves. Each tabletop half has a substantially planar top surface, a bottom surface opposite the top surface, an inner edge, and an opposing outer edge which is substantially parallel to the inner edge. A hinge assembly pivotally connects the two tabletop halves along their inner edges, allowing the two tabletop halves to be folded together into a storage position. Four collapsible legs are attached to the bottom surface of the tabletop halves. Each collapsible leg is operable to collapse independently of any of the other legs. A first pair of the legs collapse to positions which are substantially parallel to the outer edges of the tabletop halves, and a second pair of the legs collapse to positions which are substantially diagonal to the outer edges of the tabletop halves.
Latching mechanism for foldable table 7,752,982 A latching system for a foldable table having two tabletop halves each having a bottom surface and an end surface includes a receiver disposed on the end surface of the first tabletop half and a latching mechanism disposed on the end surface of the second tabletop half. The latching mechanism has an L-shaped anchor and a pivoting clasp. A bottom leaf of the anchor is fastened to the bottom of the second tabletop half and an end leaf of the anchor is fastened to the end surface of the second tabletop half with a plurality of fasteners. The anchor and clasp have one or more hinge barrels for receiving the hinge pin so that the hinged clasp pivots about the hinge pin relative to the anchor. The hinged clasp detachably mates with the receiver and thereby latches the two tabletop halves in a storage position.
Keyed Twist-Lock Hook Assembly for Aperture Board 8,459,472 An aperture board assembly includes a panel having an array of apertures, a modular array of receivers attached to the panel, and hook assemblies for detachably engaging the receivers. The modular array is attached to the panel so that each receiver is substantially aligned with a corresponding aperture in the panel. Each hook assembly passes at least partially through an aperture in the panel and into a receiver aligned with the aperture. Each receiver in the modular array includes spring clips that are equally spaced apart around a perimeter of the receiver. Each spring clip includes a pair of opposing spring fingers disposed in a spring clip aperture. Each pair of opposing spring fingers detachably engage the hook assembly as the hook assembly is rotated with respect to the receiver.
